Tony Whatmuff

Tony Whatmuff has worked in primary and secondary schools in Merseyside, London and the Midlands for 25 years, continually researching and uncovering new things about effective teaching and learning in literacy. For the last 15 years Tony has been a literacy specialist across KS1-4, as well as working with University College London and the Institute of Education. Tony is also the National Trainer for Inference Training - a class and group approach to improving reading comprehension in primary and secondary schools, based on the research of Nicola Yuill and Professor Jane Oakhill at Sussex University.

Tony continues to be passionate about improving young people’s attainment and providing engaging, effective learning experiences in school.
