Found to have a positive impact on students' preparedness for GCSE study
There is now an updated 5th edition of this series.
The 4th edition of geog.123 provides the solid grounding students need for GCSE Geography. With Kerboodle materials which really bring geography to life - and save you time.
This is a really good series of books for KS3. The book is appealing to kids and nicely graded. There are plenty of bright images and the content is bang up to date so the case studies are relevant...The layout is clear and appealing and the exercises are practical and, for the most part, interesting...It's probably my favourite KS3 geography resource...The workbooks are good too.
Amazon 5 star review
The geog.1 textbook looks very good. Diverse range of topics which we hope will be interesting for Year 7 pupils. The main difficulty has been in deciding what to leave out of our scheme of work as we don't have time to cover it all. Loads of activities to choose from so individual teachers can tailor their lessons to the characteristics of each class.
Jim Gardner, Dame Allan's Boys' School
We particularly liked the topics that feature in this book as they tie in directly with those we had chosen for our Year 7 and Year 8 SOW based on the new Programme of Study, especially geological timescales, glaciers, Africa, and the Horn of Africa.
Sallyanne Summers, Lode Heath School
It's the best around. You know what quality you are getting.
Paul Corner, Ferryhill Business & Enterprise College
It motivates the pupils and allows me to differentiate easily within my planning for each lesson. I like the online aspect too.
Head of Geography at a middle school
Clear, up-to-date, and relevant to a modern-world study of geography.
Aubrey Bufton, Sidcot School
We have always liked the layout and content of the geog. books. Good use of illustrations and pictures, and they fit in with the new curriculum for geography. They are very user-friendly and cover all aspects clearly.
Helen Banks, Scalby School
Updated topics and a really good range of questions and resources to base a scheme of work on. Accessible and plenty of good visual material.
Sarah Lewis, Bishop of Llandaff High School
It's different than what we already have. Colourful and interesting and a little bit more related to students.
Head of Geography at a secondary school
Colourful, great use of images, exercises are practical and useful. Easy to read, easy to understand, well laid out. They engage pupils and are varied enough to maintain interest. They address key skills well.
David Majury, St Columbanus College
Colourful, engaging and current. Lots of photos and maps - perfect for interpretation.
Fran Summers, The South Wolds Academy and Sixth Form
