How is Oxford Smart Mosaic different?
- Fully supports the 5 core mastery principles set out by the NCETM: An inclusive mastery approach that is intuitive to implement and supports specialists and non-specialists alike.
- Designed around Craig Barton’s Learning Episode Model: A responsive, step-by-step approach that is easy to implement with minimal PD, this offers a supportive and consistent teaching and learning approach.
- Aligned to the DfE non-statutory guidance: Provides a clear and coherent curriculum pathway, with careful sequencing and linking of knowledge, skills, and understanding throughout KS3.
- Everything all in one place: Mosaic is delivered through a blend of print and digital resources, with all digital resources – including digital books, lesson PowerPoints, activity sheets, assessments, Next Steps, and reporting – available on Kerboodle.
How do students and teachers benefit?
- Makes new mathematical concepts stick: Knowledge is introduced in micro-steps so that it builds progressively, whilst concepts are connected and understanding is deepened through intelligent practice opportunities and Craig Barton’s ‘Reflect, Expect, Check, Explain’ model.
- Adaptive learning pathways support all students to thrive at their own level: Brand-new ‘Next Steps’ on Kerboodle offer personalised intervention and extension activities to strengthen and extend students’ knowledge.
- Enables teachers to quickly identify and pre-empt gaps in knowledge: Using data from our partners at Eedi, Diagnostic Questions at the start of every chapter allow teachers to easily check understanding.
