Carrie was born in village in Kent in 1966 – the year that England won the World Cup! Perhaps this explains her lifelong love of football. After doing her first degree at Warwick University, Carrie taught in schools in London for a few years before returning to Kent where she now lives with her husband, two children and various assortments of animals. She is a vegetarian, endeavours to ‘go organic’ in all purchases and nags her children incessantly about turning off the lights and refusing plastic carrier bags in shops.
Having completed her masters degree and going on to do doctoral research, Carrie lectures at the University of East London in both Children’s Literature and Special Educational Needs. Carrie’s hobbies include skiing, spending time with her family in the Atlantic rollers on Cornwall’s North Coast and watching West Ham play football – not all at once though!
