Elizabeth Baguley was born in Nottinghamshire and has worked there as a teacher at both primary and secondary levels for many years.  She lives with her husband and two daughters in a village to the north of the county. She began writing when her children were small, having been captivated by the beauty of the picture books which she read to them.
As well as writing, she is a story-teller for both adults and children.  She studies the stars and is quietly passionate about trees.
