Numicon Breaking Barriers
Breaking Barriers is a teaching programme that supports children aged seven onwards who experience particular difficulties learning maths, including those with special educational needs such as SpLD, dyslexia and dyscalculia.
Used in one-on-one or small group intervention, Breaking Barriers is aimed at children who need to revisit content or have individual programmes based on earlier Key Stage 1 content.
- Contains a diagnostic assessment which pinpoints activities that can be used to build a tailored programme or to support teaching where children have developed gaps in their understanding of maths concepts.
- Includes expert advice on making number ideas accessible.
- Shows a coherent teaching progression with support for planning and assessment.
