Ron Pickering
Ron’s academic background is in science education, particularly at a secondary Biology level. He has been a classroom teacher for much of his working life and has been particularly interested in using visual aids to learning. His first publication with OUP - Revise Biology through Diagrams - reflected this, and he continues to use a heavily illustrated approach in the IGCSE & O Level Complete Biology series.
His work with Cambridge Assessment has continued for many years. Initially he was a marker for O level and GCSE papers. He then moved on to setting IGCSE examination papers - particularly the old paper 2 (now paper 3) - and writing training materials for teachers delivering the IGCSE Biology courses. These training materials were used in many Cambridge International centres where he was able to run training courses in both IGCSE and A level Biology.
